General Instructions
Following your operation, you should continue taking all your normal medications as prescribed by your physician or dentist.
Your procedure will be performed using local anesthesia, and you can usually continue your normal daily activities after your appointment.
Post-Operative General Instructions
The tooth will be quite tender to bite or tap on and may ache for 3 to 4 days after the procedure but will usually decrease in intensity as the day goes by. We recommend you take 800mg Ibuprofen every 8 hours and 1000mg Tylenol every 4 hours as needed for the first 2 to 3 days.
It is recommended not to chew on the tooth for several days so the healing process can occur. After a week to two weeks, chewing on the tooth should be painless, though tapping on the side of the tooth will be tender for quite some time.
It is recommended that you get a crown placed on your tooth as soon as possible to avoid any fracturing of the tooth which could lead to the possibly of needing it extracted. Occasionally there can be extreme pain that can usually be managed with a prescription medication, a call to the office can determine the need.
